HB Projects’ Civil & Industrial (C&I) Team were appointed by ENER-G to convert an existing warehouse into a high voltage power plant. The project involved structural alterations and building upgrades to accommodate ENER-G’s gas fired turbines and associated equipment needed to produce electricity from the site.

Summary of scope of works:


  • Structural design and alterations to existing building fabric including secondary steel work for all penetrations and  support steelwork
  • New external 4m high acoustic barrier to newly formed plant area
  • Installation of perimeter security fence and landscaping
  • Construction of new DNO room, switch room and transformer enclosures
  • Office alterations and  refurbishment
  • Foundations and structural concrete slabs
  • Drainage alterations and service trenches
  • Design and construction of 8no engine bay housings to a specified level of sound proofing and fire protection


Our in-house design capability, and collaboration with group partners HBPW (consulting civil and structural engineers), enabled to adapt quickly to client changes and emerging site conditions, and develop an efficient and effective design solution tailored specifically to ENER-G’s requirements.
