• Client: Asda
  • Location: Enfield
  • Project: Home Shopping Hub
  • Value: £2.6m
  • Duration: 12 weeks
  • Description:

HB Projects carried out the full refurbishment and conversion of a 30 year old warehouse to provide a Home Shop Hub to service the Asda’s customer’s online shopping facility for the North London area. The scope of works included extensive repairs to the external shell of the building and modifications to loading bay areas; an upgrade of the expansive service yard; and interior fit out of the office and dispatch areas.

In addition to the full M&E refit, HB Projects also constructed new high quality toilet block facilities together with a staff canteen and state-of-the-art kitchen. A particular feature of this project, designed and installed in co-operation with our sister company HBCL Coldstores, was the innovative solution provided for the freezer picking area, which assisted Asda in maintaining productivity without unduly exposing staff to extreme working conditions for prolonged periods.

All products are routed to the 21-dock loading bay for delivery by means of a complex, high technology conveyor system stretching hundreds of metres. HB Projects also integrated environmentally-efficient water harvesting jet wash systems for cleaning the fleet of delivery vehicles to help ensure that products are loaded in the most hygienic manner.
